Welcome to the Bio Bus website! Yes the rumours are true, Stagecoach West Scotland have buses running on 100% recycled cooking oil collected from your own homes!! The Bio Bus is a groundbreaking environmental initiative where every one of the nine buses that operate on the route are fuelled with 100% waste-derived biofuel. The vehicles operate on Service 1 between Stewarton and Darvel via Kilmarnock. Service 1 was chosen as it is a particularly busy service, carrying over 15,000 passengers per week. A scheme has also been set up whereby passengers are supplied with a container to recycle their own cooking oil, helping to fuel the buses!
